Meet Stephen Gilbert the owner behind Green + Republic Design Group. Stephen’s love for plants and landforms started at an early age growing up on a forestry compound in Crossett, Arkansas. As the son and nephew of foresters Stephen had access to the vast hardwood bottoms and piney ridges of the Ouachita River, Bayou Bartholomew and Cheminahaut Creek.

After returning from his service in the US Army, Stephen found a way to conflate his love for the natural environment and architecture by completing a Bachelor’s of Arts in Landscape Architecture from the University of Arkansas in 2008.

Stephen lives in Bentonville, Arkansas with his wife Laura, his sons Alex and Andy and his step-children Audrey and Tripp. When not working on construction projects and design, you will find Stephen and his wife on the lake or watching their children playing sports.
